- Remove fastener nut from ball joint or tie rod end.
- Determine the correct “spread” width needed for removal.
- Using hammer strike handle of fork until joint separates.
- If needed, with separator fork in place and under pressure, strike the
housing that holds the ball joint or tie rod end to remove part.
